Favorites ^_^ - Jadyn Aguilar

Hi guys! I agree with Pablo, it's also hard for me to pick 2 favorites, there's so much talented people to look up to out there! But for the time being, these are some of my favorites.

Dave McKean

Illustrator / Designer / Filmmaker

David Tench McKean (born 29 December 1963 in Maidenhead, England) is an illustrator, photographer, comic book artist, graphic designer, filmmaker and musician.

His work incorporates drawing, painting, photography, collage, found objects, digital art and sculpture.
The diversity of his work is extremely impressive. All of his work is distinctive thanks to the rich use of textures. His visual style is also very unique and a bit dark.

For many years he has worked alongside Neil Gaiman, a British writer (one of my favorites as a matter of fact!). Together they have worked on novels, children’s books, comic books and until recently, film. In this transition, it’s very interesting to see the richness of their work come to life in “Mirrormask”. Fortunately Dave McKean didn’t stop at Mirrormask, his experimental short films contain surreal and evocative images combined with strange and original stories, to create a world of memory and dreams.

Yoshitaka Amano
Illustrator / Animator / Designer / Filmmaker

Yoshitaka (born July 28, 1952) is a Japanese artist known for his illustrations for Vampire Hunter D and for his character designs, image illustrations and title logo designs for the Final Fantasy video game series developed by Square Enix (formerly Square). He has also worked on some experimental animation shorts / features. The delicate and intricate style he portrays is very unique, I've yet to see anyone's work resemble his.

Amano has published a lot of illustration books from all his works, they are all incredible.

Tim Burton
Illustrator / Animator / Filmmaker

Tim Burton has been one of my favorites for a long time. All of his work is unique in it’s creative visual style and a very dark sense of humor (just take a look at his book “the melancholy death of oyster boy and other stories”). One of the reasons I like Tim Burton’s work so much is because of his medium versatility.

When I saw “The nightmare before Christmas” in 1993, it had a huge impact on me, I think it was the reason I decided to get involved in the visual industry. It’s the reason I love animation so much.

he had been mauled by a grizzly earlier that year”
